As a member of Psi Chi, you are able to apply to numerous awards and grants from the international organization. Below are several awards that may be especially relevant to UBC students. Undergraduate Research Grants | Nov 1, & Feb 1
- These grants subsidize the costs of research projects (e.g., Directed Studies, Honours projects, summer research projects, etc.)
- Requests can be up to $3,500 USD for each project
- The best project proposals will receive an additional $1,500 USD for sponsoring faculty
- $112,500 USD in funding available per funding year
Unrestricted Travel Grants | September 5 & Dec 5 & May 5
- Winning applicants will receive up to $1,500 USD to attend a psychology or psychology related convention that is not funded by the Psi Chi Regional Travel Grants (EPA, MPA, RMPA, SEPA, SWPA, and WPA)
- At least $7,500 USD available per funding round
Regional Travel Grants
- Winning applicants receive up to $400 to attend regional conventions (EPA, MPA, RMPA, SEPA, SWPA, and WPA)
Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarships | June 4
- Four scholarships of $3,000 USD each
- Criteria include Psi Chi activity, financial need, future plans in psychology, personal qualities consistent with Psi Chi’s mission, and academic performance
Thelma Hunt Research Grant | Nov 1
- One grant of $3,000 for Psi Chi
- Projects ideally relate to the Psi Chi mission:
- helping to produce well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible members; and
- contributing to psychology and society
